Covered with masses of iridescent violet-blue flowers on a foundation of emerald green foliage, Duranta Erecta ‘Sweet Memories’ is an attractive, colorful tropical shrub for a hedge, privacy screen, or a container. Commonly known as purple sky flower or golden dew drops, it grows quickly to around 10 feet tall and can be trained as a patio tree. Birds love the ornamental golden-yellow berries after blooming. A nice weeping habit develops as plant matures. Drought tolerant once established but performs best with regular watering. The sweetly radiant flowers bloom from summer to fall, displayed as dangling clusters.
