The leaves are a stripe-y mix of dark green and light gray-green. Native to Sri Lanka, this plant is difficult to kill and will survive drought or dimly lit environments. Sansevieria zeylanica comes in a white drop-in planter that complements its modern and stylish good looks. While it’s heralded for handling low-light spaces, you can absolutely place the plant in moderate- to bright-light spots. You can also grow it outside in sun to shade as long as temperatures are mostly on the mild to warm side. As lush, full and tropical as the leaves look, snake plants thrive with very little water, making them great plants for beginners, forgetful gardeners, travelers and plant parents who prefer a light-touch approach to plant parenting.
